Villa Alegria
Algarve, Portugal

Built into the cliffs of Portugal's western Algarve, Villa Alegria is a contemporary four-bedroom villa designed entirely around its Atlantic outlook. The architecture is sculptural rather than traditional — curved white volumes, glass walls, and terraced local stone retaining walls that step down the hillside toward the sea, with the village and bay opening up below.
The main living level is wrapped in floor-to-ceiling glass on three sides, bringing the horizon directly into the room. Pale wood floors, a low-profile sectional, a marble coffee table, and a freestanding double-sided fireplace anchor a clean, light-filled interior. The dining area seats eight beneath a sculptural pendant, with the open kitchen tucked discreetly behind a curved partition wall.
Outside, a private infinity pool runs along the cliff edge, framed by a frameless glass balustrade so the view remains uninterrupted. A travertine terrace holds an alfresco dining table for eight and a separate sun deck shaded by Mediterranean palms and banana plants. The four bedrooms are positioned to take full advantage of the views, with the principal suite opening directly onto its own terrace above the sea.
Villa Alegria is moments from the fishing village beach below, with the restaurants of Lagos and Sagres within a short drive and Faro Airport approximately ninety minutes away.
