Villa Danae

Villa Danae sits on the hillside at Agios Ioannis, on the south-western coast of Mykonos, oriented directly toward Delos and the bay. The property covers 350 square metres across a main house and a separate guest wing, with six en-suite bedrooms accommodating up to twelve guests. A small private chapel stands on the cliff above, the highest point of the plot.

The pool terrace is the heart of the house. A long infinity pool finished in pale stone runs the length of the western edge, dropping into the view of Delos with no visible boundary. A covered outdoor lounge built into the dry-stone wall holds a deep banquette, a grill, and a long alfresco dining table — positioned for the sunset, which falls directly across the bay each evening. A free-standing bathtub carved from a single granite boulder sits on the rear terrace, paired with a rattan hanging chair.

Inside, the interiors are layered and considered: white-painted timber-beam ceilings, warm oak floors, slip-covered linen sofas, marble shelving, Moroccan pierced-metal lanterns, and a fireplace in the main living room. The open-plan ground floor flows from the lounge through to a fitted marble kitchen and out to the pool terrace through full-width sliding doors. Bedrooms are quietly finished in soft whites and natural timber, several with private balconies and direct sea and sunset views; the two guest-wing suites have their own independent entrances and private terraces.

Mykonos Town is a five-minute drive; Ornos and the new port are within easy reach.
