Villa Genesis

Set in the Aleomandra area on Mykonos's western coast, Villa Genesis is a recently completed contemporary villa that strikes a confident balance between the island's traditional language and a sharper, more modern hand. The lower volumes are clad in hand-laid local stone — the same dark schist used in Mykonian dry-stone walls for centuries — while the upper floor lifts into pure white cubic forms above. The position offers excellent access to the island's defining points: the beach at Ornos is a short drive, the bays of Agios Ioannis and Kapari close by, and Mykonos Town and the Old Port within fifteen minutes.

The architecture is articulated across two floors, with the principal living spaces opening through full-height glass sliding doors onto a wide stone-paved terrace. A deep timber pergola with horizontal beams runs the length of the south facade, providing shade across the day. Inside, the design language is distinctly contemporary — pale walls, polished concrete and stone floors, dark accents in wood and metal, and tactile woven and natural-fibre furnishings that nod to the Cycladic tradition without copying it. The fully equipped kitchen flows into the open-plan dining and living area, with a separate snug and a media room for quieter moments.

Outdoor living is the heart of the villa. A long infinity pool sits at the centre of the terrace, with a glass-walled side that allows the water to be viewed directly from the standout feature of the property — a sunken conversation lounge cut into the terrace, with built-in upholstered banquette seating arranged around a low timber table. The arrangement creates a private, contained social space for evening drinks while remaining visually connected to the pool and the open view beyond. Sun loungers, daybeds, and a covered alfresco dining area complete the outdoor program.

Six en-suite bedrooms sleep twelve across both floors, finished in soft palettes with woven cane and rattan headboards, geometric textiles, and dark metal pendant lighting.
