Elxi Villa
Paros, Greece

Set on a hilltop overlooking the western coast of Paros, Elxis Villa is a deeply rooted Cycladic residence built in the island's traditional language — the kind of architecture that feels like it has grown out of the rocky hillside rather than been placed on it. Hand-rendered lime-plaster walls, organic curves, deep-set windows with timber shutters, and a sculptural bottle-shaped chimney give the property a quietly artisanal character. The position is exceptional: the Antiparos channel opens out below, with sunset views that stretch across the moored fishing boats in the bay to the silhouette of Antiparos beyond. Parikia and the harbour are a short drive, the beaches at Pounta and Krios within easy reach.
The architecture unfolds across several levels, threaded together by stone-paved pathways, open courtyards, and small flights of steps that follow the natural contours of the hill. White lime-plastered walls catch the changing light through the day — soft pink at dawn, pure white at midday, deep amber at sunset — and bougainvillea climbs the walls in clusters of pink and red. Inside, vaulted ceilings, recessed niches, traditional Greek detailing, and natural-fibre furnishings carry the same restrained palette through to the interiors.
Outdoor living is distributed across multiple terraces, each with its own outlook. The principal sun terrace catches the open sea view to the west; an alfresco dining area sits beneath a covered pergola; a sunset terrace at the upper level is set up with deck chairs and a low table for the evening light. Smaller seating nooks tucked into the contours of the hillside offer quiet corners for reading or coffee through the day.
Six bedrooms are distributed across the main house and adjoining structures, sleeping twelve, each with its own private terrace or courtyard.
