Red Chalet
Algarve, Portugal

Set directly on the cliffs of the central Algarve coastline, Red Chalet is a beautifully restored four-bedroom heritage villa built in 1908. The terracotta-red facade, twin pyramid-roofed turrets, white stone columns, and balustraded balcony are original to the period — a rare example of early-twentieth-century Portuguese seaside architecture, sensitively renovated as a private rental home.
The interiors take the heritage shell as a starting point and layer it with contemporary detail. The kitchen pairs sage-green Shaker cabinetry with a red Lacanche range and marble counters; the principal bathrooms are wrapped in damask wallpaper with rose marble vanities, crystal chandeliers, and freestanding tubs. Tall sash windows in every room frame the sea, with deep velvet drapery and bespoke joinery throughout. The four bedrooms are individually styled, each with direct ocean views.
Outside, a herringbone-paved terrace runs the length of the seaward facade, holding striped outdoor sofas, a sunken fire bowl, and lounge seating positioned along a low whitewashed sea wall. Steps lead directly down to the sandy cove below.
Red Chalet sits within the grounds of one of Portugal's most established luxury estates, with restaurants, beaches, and golf courses within easy reach and Faro Airport approximately forty minutes by car.
