Can Thiago
Mallorca, Spain

Tucked into a Tramuntana valley above the village of Banyalbufar on Mallorca's north-west coast, Can Thiago is a traditional stone finca on a prestigious 250-acre estate. The property is reached by a four-kilometre winding driveway through pine woods, terraced citrus orchards, and centuries-old olive groves — a journey that sets the tone for everything that follows. From the gardens, walking trails lead across the estate, including a coastal path that drops down to Son Bunyola beach, a twenty-minute stroll away. Banyalbufar and Esporles are short drives, and Palma is just thirty minutes despite the deep sense of seclusion.
The architecture is classic rural Mallorcan — honey-coloured sandstone walls, timber persianas, terracotta-tile roofs — built across two volumes and set above terraced gardens with dry-stone retaining walls. Inside, the interiors balance traditional Mediterranean character with contemporary furniture and striking modern art. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large oven and gas range; an indoor dining area with working fireplace anchors the main living wing. A covered terrace off the living room sets up al fresco lunches with sea views beyond the valley.
Below the house, a 15 by 5.5 metre heated pool runs along a stone-paved terrace lined with sun loungers and oversized parasols. Guests share a tennis court within the wider estate, with rackets and balls provided.
Four en-suite bedrooms across two floors sleep eight, with sea views from the upper level and one suite featuring a deep soaking tub positioned for the mountain views. The villa includes daily housekeeping, a self-service continental breakfast, and 24-hour concierge support.
