Villa Valea
Los Angeles, CA

Behind gates on more than an acre in Beverly Hills, Villa Valea sits low against the hillside — a mid-century original reworked down to the studs. Board-formed concrete and black steel-framed glass wrap the single-story plan, with a desert entry walk of agave and cactus leading past a stone-clad facade to the front door. Canyon greenery presses close on three sides, folding the house into its own quiet pocket of the hills.
Inside, the living room sits a step below grade, wrapped in bi-fold glass doors that open the entire wall to the pool deck. A tufted sectional and jute rug anchor one end, a fireplace and built-in shelving the other, with a piano tucked into the corner. The kitchen runs on dark wood cabinetry and a waterfall island, lit by fluted wood pendants and outfitted with Thermador and Viking appliances. Five bedrooms and seven bathrooms — four full, three half — include two primary suites, each with dual vanities and a walk-in closet. A wood-paneled screening room seats four in leather recliners under a gallery of vintage film posters, and a private gym completes the floor plan.
Outside, the pool and spa sit flush against a wide concrete deck, a fire pit and lounge seating just beyond. Mature landscaping wraps the grounds on every side, and at dusk the pool light carries blue across the water while the hills go dark behind it. Villa Valea holds its ground quietly — private, deliberate, unhurried.
