Villa Broad
Malibu, CA

The Pacific doesn't frame this house — it completes it. Positioned directly on Broad Beach, one of Malibu's most private stretches of coastline, this recently completed estate was built around a single, irreducible idea: that the water should be visible, felt, and heard from almost everywhere you stand. The architecture responds accordingly — curved white facades, wall-to-wall glass that folds entirely away, and a scale that gathers a large group without once feeling like a hotel.
Inside, the main living level dissolves into the outdoors through floor-to-ceiling sliding walls, revealing a living room anchored by an oversized sectional in warm stone fabric and a built-in bar clad in travertine — the ocean as constant backdrop. The kitchen is precise and serious: dark flecked stone island, brushed brass upper cabinetry, Gaggenau appliances arranged along a monolithic wall, a dining area positioned so that every seat faces the water. The staircase — glass-railed, open-tread — rises through the center of the house with quiet confidence.
After dark, the infinity pool illuminates in deep blue, cascading into a lower wading basin — the whole rear facade glowing warm against the dusk. By day, that same pool sits between the living room and the sand, the line between them almost theoretical. A 40-foot beachside stretch with a dancing fountain, built-in barbecue, and more than 6,000 square feet of decking gives a large gathering room to breathe. The beach is right there. It always is.
