Villa Costera
Malibu, CA

Set above Malibu's coastline at the end of a long, tree-lined drive, this Spanish-style villa rises in white stucco beneath a terracotta tile roofline, its arched windows and iron-balustrade stairs framed by bougainvillea and palm. The motor court opens toward the sea, the water visible from nearly every angle of the property.
Inside, wood-paneled walls and marble-clad fireplaces run through a series of connected rooms, boucle and velvet seating gathered around each one beneath arched French doors. The kitchen centers on a marble island framed in oak cabinetry, floating shelves holding stacked ceramics beside it, and a round breakfast table sits beneath a vaulted wood ceiling in its own sunlit alcove.
A media room done in charcoal and wood chevron paneling holds deep tufted seating before a wall-mounted screen, and a glass-enclosed wine wall lines a nearby lounge beside its own marble fireplace. Tucked beneath the roofline, a game room holds a pool table under an arched dormer window, a bar cart set to one side.
Upstairs, bedrooms carry their own fireplaces and window seats, opening onto bathrooms finished in herringbone stone and glass-walled showers.
Outside, a terrace wraps the main level toward a forty-foot pool, wicker furniture set along its tiled edge, while a pergola strung with hanging chairs sits tucked beneath blooming bougainvillea nearby. Perched between hillside and shoreline, the house holds its quiet at every turn.
