Chair Three sits slopeside in the heart of the Mountain Village core, close enough to the lifts that the day's plan starts on the balcony rather than in the car. The building's modern lines give way inside to sweeping windows that pull the peaks straight into the living room, the kind of view a home like this is built around rather than simply offered.

Three bedrooms keep the house comfortable rather than crowded, each with its own quiet character — a cozy corner nook in one, a chairlift-inspired perch in another, small details that turn a place to sleep into a place to linger. The living space does the gathering: a leather sectional anchors the room, a dining table seats eight beneath clean, urban lines, and a kitchen wrapped in stainless steel and a wraparound island keeps cooking part of the conversation. Ski art on the walls plays off the real thing through the glass, until it's hard to tell where one stops and the other starts.

Outside, the balcony looks straight down the run, and the lifts are close enough to reach before the coffee's finished. Poacher's Pub sits right next door for the end of the day, and the gondola carries the rest of it into Telluride's historic town for dinner or a wander through the shops. Chair Three asks for nothing more than a short walk to start the day and an even shorter one to end it.
